My focus is to help you hit all your goals.

Once you start training with me you also become a part of the Iron Mantis Martial Arts Association.  We have 10 affiliates throughout the U.S.  with the headquarters here in Austin, Texas.  We are in Texas, California, New Mexico and New York.  The Association was inspired by Grandmaster Raymond Nelson and his teachings.  The Association is lead by Masters Jeff Hughes, Carl Albright, Louie Ginorio, Tony Puyot and Homer Greene.  We are all proud descendants of our late Grandmaster Chiu Leun.

We have three affiliates in Austin, TX., Ramona, CA., Hollywood CA., San Diego, CA., Fresno, CA., Brooklyn, N.Y., The Bronx, N.Y., and Albuquerque, NM.,

Future affiliates in Tyler, Nacogdoches and Longview, TX.

If your passion is martial arts, I can help you. If your life is busy, finding time to pursue your dreams of reaching your “fighting weight,” or learning a real martial art may seem far-fetched, it’s not. Iron Mantis is a complete martial arts and fitness system.

ws2When you work with me, we will find a time and schedule that works for you and yours. You will get one-on-one instruction which puts you on the fast-track to mastering fitness and martial techniques.

I will cater your program to what you want to achieve and what you want to learn.  You have many options to customize your program.  My private or small group training sessions include effective techniques from kickboxing, traditional empty hand forms, weapons, chi sau, trapping hands, self-defense and fitness depending on your wants and needs.  I offer grappling for ground fighting self-defense.  Punching, blocking and kicking techniques for those interested in stand-up techniques.

On the softer side I teach Tai Chi and Qi Gong for enjoyment and health benefits.  If you have joint pains or concerns, this may be the martial art for you.  Any body can do Tai Chi!  You will strengthen your hips, knees, and ankles, and lengthen your spine within just a few weeks of practice.

hughes-liftingI also teach Iron Mantis fitness which is a mixture of martial arts and fitness. As an advanced USAW Olympic lifting coach, I offer sports performance training which includes general strength bodyweight exercises, ancillaries workouts with med balls, bands and dumbbells. For those interested in reaching the higher levels of fitness we do track work for the cardio and explosive power. Martial arts is my life and for those interested in making a change in their life I am here for you. Train hard, train smart, finish healthy.

 

When you work with me, you will get a personalized training program based on your current fitness level, your training goals and past experience.

Sessions can be one-on-one or a small group up to  4.  I also travel to do group seminars.  Professionalism is everything and your safety is very important to me.  I have a padded training area to work on, as well as equipment, or if you feel more comfortable training at your place, I can travel to you.  Lets get started!
